An Overview of the Steps in the Certification Process

Step 1: Application CSO applies for Certification; Understands Certification Requirements and pays application fees

Step 2: Self Asssessment Compile compliance information and evidence, Self assessment report, sign the code of conduct, Framework for organizational review

Step 3: Desk Assessment Completeness of self assessment, Desk review report, Preliminary judgement if organisation is likely to meet certification standards

Step 4: Organisational Review 2 day visit to CSO H/Q, review self asssessment report, CSO provides further information, Certification Report to the certification council

Step 5: Certification Decision Review of all documentation, Certification decision, certification Agreement

Step 6: Continous implementation of standards, annual maintenance and improvement report

The Certification process is Valid for 3 years
